Women in the Warehouse: Melissa Mead
March 2020
Each month, GSF features a woman leader within the GSF family of companies, sharing her journey, insights and what it takes to succeed in this industry.
To say the work done by this month’s woman in the warehouse is important would be an understatement. Melissa Mead is the Transportation Supervisor at QCD Fontana in California. Playing an important role in ensuring all drivers coming and going from her location are safe, protected, and supported, she is a detail-oriented, solutions-driven leader who puts her team first.
Since she began her role at QCD in 2018, Melissa has been inspired to do her best work every day. Driven by her love for the transportation industry, particularly her drivers, Melissa works to ensure that all of the nearly two dozen routes and trucks are compliant with laws and that every route has a driver who can do their job safely and knowledgeably.
Prior to QCD, Melissa worked in several different industries, and her passion has always been people. She values working for a company that is collaborative, understanding, and most importantly, treats employees like humans.
“QCD has been amazing,” Melissa says. “Without leadership’s support and guidance, I wouldn’t be the supervisor I am. They have assisted me in so many ways… I’m so thankful to be part of a people-driven company that is not just focused on running a business.”
