Driver Appreciation Week Spotlight: Jimmy Cataldo
September 2023
From September 10-16, America’s annual National Truck Driver Appreciation Week honors the 3.6 million professional truck drivers who make deliveries safely, securely, and on time, while also maintaining highway safety across the U.S. Among GSF’s valued last-mile delivery drivers, James (Jimmy) Cataldo maintains the highest standards at QCD Boston with his 17 years of Class A driving experience. For most of his career, Jimmy has served as a foodservice industry driver and appreciates his current role and the people-first culture that the QCD team cultivates in all of its locations across the U.S.
“It’s a fun place to work and gives me a really good work/life balance,” says Jimmy. “I love what I do, and QCD gives me that opportunity every day.”
Before heading out on the road, Jimmy comes into the QCD Boston distribution center as his shift begins to greet everyone on the team and to check his paperwork. He knows his responsibilities and routes well, and he looks forward to interacting with customers at each store delivery along the way. In addition to providing excellent customer service, Jimmy prioritizes safety and recently earned a safety metrics award for achieving exemplary results in this area.
“Be careful and always be aware of your surroundings,” explains Jimmy. “Do not rush and risk your safety. Everything else will still be there.”
Not only does Jimmy demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, but he also supports his local community through the GSF Foundation. His contributions help the company’s associate-funded nonprofit to serve children and families in need in the areas where associates live and work.
Thank you to all of QCD's dedicated drivers throughout the GSF family of companies who move our fleets forward and deliver customer success each and every day!
