High-Performing QCD Facilities Earn Quarterly and Annual Starbucks Service Efficiency Awards
In early November, Starbucks announced its fourth quarter 2020 (July through September 2020) Service Efficiency Scorecard (SES) winners and the annual Siren's Awards, with both recognitions going to QCD Orlando and QCD Salt Lake City. Among Starbucks' 34 U.S. territories, these two facilities maintained the highest standards to deliver consistent, balanced results throughout 2020. Additionally, QCD Chicago West earned "Most Improved" distribution center quarter-over-quarter.
For the third consecutive quarter, QCD Salt Lake City achieved the top ranking in the "Short/Tall" category for Starbucks' smaller distribution territories. Topping the large distribution territories rankings for a second consecutive quarter, QCD Orlando received the highest honors in the "Grande/Venti" category this quarter, just as it did in the first quarter of Starbucks' 2020 SES results.
"What a huge accomplishment for our Orlando and Salt Lake City teams to outrank all Starbucks DCs in their categories this year, along with our Chicago West associates for making big strides in their last-mile service delivery over the past quarter," said Brande Bond, Senior Director, Global Starbucks Business Unit, QCD. "These facility teams truly exemplify the highest levels of dedication and diligence in supporting our customer's success."
Based on SES alone, this year's Siren's Awards did not take Starbucks' Standardization Assessment into consideration due to pandemic limitations. The annual honors typically measure distribution centers with a weight of 70% for SES and 30% for the Standardization Assessment. Beginning in late 2019, the Siren's Awards replaced the program formerly known as the Pike Place Awards.
Other notable results include:
QCD Salt Lake City ranked at the top of the fourth quarter's service scores, including 100% for Cold Chain Compliance.
QCD Spokane ranked second overall in the fourth quarter's Service Efficiency Scorecard, as well as second overall for the annual rankings.
QCD Las Vegas ranked third overall in the fourth quarter's Service Efficiency Scorecard, including 100% for Cold Chain Compliance, as well as third overall for the annual rankings.
QCD Orlando ranked fourth overall and first in the "Grande/Venti" category for the fourth quarter Service Efficiency Scorecard, as well as for the annual rankings.
QCD Boston and Honolulu both scored 100% for Cold Chain Compliance.
