QCD Boston Launches Operations from New Last-Mile Distribution Center

This week, QCD Boston launched operations from its new 130,000-square-foot distribution center in Taunton, Massachusetts. Set to enhance supply chain efficiency, this facility will service more than 400 Starbucks customer stores across six states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

At 15,000 square feet larger than the previous location, the new facility allows QCD Boston to support current operations, future growth, and the rising demand for last-mile distribution in the Northeast—all while maintaining high standards of service and peak performance. With a workforce of 130 associates, including truck drivers, warehouse associates, customer service representatives, and human resources personnel, the facility is prepared to meet the evolving demands of its extensive customer network.

A notable innovation at the new distribution center, QCD Boston features a state-of-the-art shuttle racking system. This semi-automated system utilizes electro-mechanical platforms to efficiently store and retrieve pallets, optimizing space utilization.

“We’re starting the year strong at QCD Boston,” said General Manager Don Mahnken. “With our new facilities, we're well-equipped to maintain exceptional customer service and confidently welcome new clients."
