QCD Career Story: Gianna Salcito
Gianna Salcito’s journey with Golden State Foods (GSF) embodies how powerful a supportive work culture can be to an individual’s growth and dedication within a company. In early 2024, she earned a promotion to Senior Manager, Training and Learning at QCD, GSF’s last-mile logistics company based in Frisco, Texas.
Initially joining as a temporary associate in July 2015, Gianna’s serendipitous start with GSF aligned her skill set with the responsibilities of an entry-level HR role. Despite her initial unfamiliarity with the company, GSF’s Creed and Values laid the foundation for what would become an enriching career path for Gianna.
Propelled by steady advancement and continuous learning, Gianna’s trajectory within GSF involved transitions from Corporate HR Generalist to Senior HR Supervisor, as she steadily succeeded in each opportunity for advancement. Mentors, such as GSF’s Chief Human Resources Officer Ed Rodriguez, facilitated unwavering support, which helped guide and mold Gianna into a confident, well-rounded professional.
Gianna’s dedication to her career resulted in milestones surrounding her personal and professional development, such as obtaining her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification in 2017 and earning an MBA in Organizational Leadership from the University of Massachusetts Global in 2022, supported by GSF’s tuition reimbursement and scholarship programs.
Throughout her journey, GSF’s people-first culture remained the driving force behind Gianna’s commitment. The genuine care and respect shown by colleagues, leaders, and peers fostered a sense of belonging and propelled her forward. While serving as QCD’s Southern California-based Regional Human Resources Manager, Western Region, Gianna received industry recognition from Orange County’s National Human Resources Association (NHRA), which selected her for the 2022 HR Rising Stars Academy as one of just four honorees out of more than 1,000 active HR professionals in Orange County.
Looking ahead, Gianna’s future shines brightly, fueled by her positivity, work ethic, and commitment to continuous improvement. As she continues to grow and develop herself, Gianna also motivates her QCD colleagues to continue evolving their personal growth and career advancement.
