Starbucks Presents First-Ever Supplier Bravo Award to QCD for Hurricane Relief Support
This week, QCD customer Starbucks honored the Charlotte distribution center team for going above and beyond to support Starbucks partners in the communities of Asheville, North Carolina and Augusta, Georgia with Hurricane Helene relief efforts. QCD Charlotte General Manager Scott VanLue and the team procured supplies, loaded up a QCD truck, and delivered food, hygiene items, diapers, and sleeping cots for about 300 Starbucks employees and their family members who have been displaced from their homes by the hurricane. In appreciation, Starbucks presented QCD with a first-ever supplier Bravo Award, which has traditionally recognized Starbucks team members as an internal honor for “living our mission and values.”
“Scott and the Charlotte team have gone above and beyond in supporting partners and communities during Hurricane Helene,” said Jimmy Shah, Starbucks Senior Distribution Manager, East Region. “The Starbucks Bravo award is to recognize and honor true champions of our culture, who make exceptional contributions to Starbucks and those around them that will leave a lasting impact over time. Congrats Charlotte team!”
In addition to supporting Starbucks families, QCD Charlotte driver Jonathan Boan helped local relief efforts in South Carolina by transporting supplies to a church providing shelter to displaced residents impacted by the storm. Furthering the team’s involvement, the GSF Foundation Charlotte Committee has established a donation drive, collecting non-perishable food items and hygiene products for additional Hurricane Helene relief to nearby communities.
